| Thirteen Loud and Proud Fans Shout it Out at The Screaming Fans HALLS Of Fame Finals - Loudest Fans to be Recognized at The College Football Hall of Fame - NEW YORK, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- They go by names like "Fan Dog" and "Nutty Ball." On Saturday afternoons, their idea of a fashion statement ranges from a large barrel as outerwear, to artfully applied face- and body-paint, to hair shaved into the letter "T." They scream at the top of their lungs incessantly and their emotions can fluctuate -- in a matter of seconds -- between exhilaration and despair. They are ever-loyal college football fans and they've been unappreciated and unrecognized for far too long. The HALLS Bowl On Saturday, the 16th of December, 13 throaty college football fans who purr with passion, explode with excitement and exercise their enthusiasm for their teams through freezing rain, blinding snowstorms and sub-zero temperatures, will shout it out in the HALLS(R) of Fame "Search For America's Loudest College Fan" final competition at the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana. "Thirteen of the most dynamic, vocal, passionate fans from around the country will take their place in college football history and be inducted into The Screaming Fans HALLS of Fame," says Paul Wright, Business Unit Director for HALLS. "And what better brand than HALLS to celebrate the passion of those screaming fans? HALLS is not just for colds, it's the ideal sore throat soother for people who live life loudly -- whether they are cheering at college football games, speaking at work meetings or yelling at crowded parties." The vocally expressive fans -- who will be inducted into the "Screaming Fans HALLS of Fame" on display at the College Football Hall of Fame -- earned the right to participate in the competition by winning regional contests. During these contests, hundreds of fervent fans took to the HALLS of Fame Decibel Dome stage, showed off their "pipes" and demonstrated their invincible vocal cords by belting out college cheers and fight songs, and letting out a wildly loud celebratory scream. On December 16, each finalist will be judged on their enthusiasm, originality and volume (measured by a custom decibel meter). Contestants will be prompted to respond with vim and vigor and dared to demonstrate their invincible vocal cords with a wildly loud celebratory scream. The grand-prize winner will be awarded a trip for two to the BCS Championship Game in Miami, Florida on Wednesday, January 3, 2001. HALLS(R) Mentho-Lyptus Cough Suppressants have been soothing sore throats and making nasal passages feel cooler for more than 90 years.
